The 2026/27 Committee

We are the current Sidney Sussex MCR committee for 2026-27. We organise social and welfare events, and also represent you in meetings with the College administration and the Cambridge University Students Union (CUSU). We sit on various committees and are your contact for anything you’d like to raise with the College.

Please get in touch with any of us if you have any questions or concerns. We also have some unoccupied committee roles so also get in touch if you are interested in joining us!

The Sidney Sussex MCR is governed by a constitution which can be read here.

You can find more information about what we do on the Sidney Sussex Website.

Meet the Committee

  • Lawrence Berry

    PRESIDENT

Hi Everyone! I’m Lawrence, a second year Astronomy PhD student, and most importantly your MCR President this year. If you have an initiative you feel the MCR could or should undertake, please let me know!

As President I am also a Trustee of the College, so if you have any ideas or issues to raise with the College, I’m more than happy to hear your views!

  • Toby Thomas

    VICE PRESIDENT

Hello! I’m Toby – a Classics student with existing MCR committee experience. I'm excited to take on the Vice-Presidency to improve the MCR Room, and give our cohort a stronger voice in College affairs and ensure College prioritise postgrad accommodation. This year will see our MCR capitalise on its strengths through streamlined committee roles and constitutional tweaks so that we can all enjoy what Sidney postgrad life has to offer.
